Raps Defense Takes Down Celtics

The Toronto Raptors looked great tonight. On an evening where Kyle Lowry scored only 13 points, the Raps were fresh off of a significant & playoff-preview smackdown by LeBron & the Cleveland Cavaliers.

as the saying goes...

Defense wins championships! It's the small details that make a  difference. Lowry drew 2 charges on big momentum-turning plays. DeRozan only scored 16 and Lowry scored only 13. It seems as though when the world isn't on the back of these two guys, the whole team benefits. The offense wasn't an issue. There wasn't many scrambles to get a hero shot up. Just consistently taking good looks at the bucket, and attacking the rim.

This was Boston's lowest-scoring game this season. Granted, Kyrie Irving is out & Terry Rozier III took last game off due to an an ankle sprain.

The Difference Makers

Toronto's bench, and intense defense made all the difference here tonight. Offense flowed easily as a result. Ibaka and Delon Wright made a 2 blocks each, and the Raptors forced 17 turnovers as a team. Fred VanFleet looked like a floor general off the bench.

If Toronto plays like this down the stretch, maybe they are worth watching in the 3rd (and hopefully 4th) round of the playoffs. 4 games to go.
